About Us

The CBDC Exchange Venture Capital initiative is an innovative new opportunity for growth companies in New Brunswick.

A division of CBDC Southwest, CBDCX gives these businesses the opportunity to receive up to $100,000 in Venture Capital. CBDCX will participate in the syndication of deals with angel Investors and Venture Capital Companies to fund larger equity requirements. The initiative is co-funded by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and CBDC Southwest and will make available up to $1 million dollars to growth companies in areas serviced by the ten New Brunswick Community Business Development Corporations.

The CBDCX initiative seeks to service the capital requirements of entrepreneurs who plan to grow their businesses throughout New Brunswick. This program works with clients who are selected through an application process by providing the businesses training that prepares to access Venture Capital. The initiative then facilitates the pairing of businesses with the right investors and investors with the right businesses. CBDCX plans to hold investment forums on ongoing basis. The first forum will take place on March 26, 2008 in Fredericton.

A member of the New Brunswick Association of Community Business Development Corporations, CBDC Southwest is one of the largest CBDCs in Atlantic Canada with more than $12 million in investments under management. CBDC Southwest provides investments and training to rural businesses as well as delivering certain government programs.
